Our Story

How it all started...

On September 16, 1994, Samuel and Vedia Jackson alone with Sister Victoria Young set in motion the paperwork and foundation of New Freedom Christian Center. After going through a long winter that year in the spring of 1995 alone with eight people Samuel and Vedia Jackson started it’s first Bible Study. It was at that same location on 51st. in Cottage Grove, Chicago, IL. , that our first Sunday Service took place on the first Sunday of July.  A year later  we moved to 90th in Halsted Street, using the facility  of another Church in their  basement. It was there for the next two years that we continue to grow, then in 1998 we moved to our first property that  we purchased, on 11625 S. Ashland Ave. Chicago, IL. 60643. It was there that we grew with growing pains and all, and afterwards with  a new vision and focus changing our Name to Freedom of Grace Full Gospel Church, (Freedom of Grace Church) .

Expanding the vision...

In 2018 Freedom of Grace Church purchased and moved to it’s current Location,( 667 W. 8th Street, Chicago Heights, IL. 60411). The message of grace alone with freedom created an emphasis on the love and power of God for change and transformation. With our vision, mission, and strategy to achieve the kingdom of God here on earth our visionary goals will be in step with the will of God in meeting the spiritual and natural needs of our supporters and members.

Where we are headed...

To fulfill our mission to go into our community, our world to proclaim the message of God‘s grace through the love of Jesus in us, by displaying good works, compassion, forgiveness, and the healing power of God to all that will receive it.

Therefore we as a church with this strategy in mind, to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to do the work of serving and connecting God’s grace and freedom through gifts of healing, deliverance, good works and the reconciling of relationships and families to healing, health and growth. Therefore, we proclaim that Freedom of Grace Church is :
Interdenominational — Embracing and unifying the Body of Christ.
Informational— Preaching and teaching by correctly revealing the Word of God.
Interracial— Caring for and connecting with all races through the power of love.
Inspirational— With love in action inspiring and empowering all through the Holy Spirit,
for transformation to Christ-likeness and character.

Our destination is to achieve all that God has instructed us to do and fulfill. With that being said,  you and  all others can take this journey with us as we head into the promises, plans and purposes of God for our future!!
